In the 1980s, many methods for biological plant protection had already been developed in various research laboratories around the world. But they had not been put into practice! That's why my wife Isabel and I decided to produce biological pesticides to make them available to food producers.
Martin Andermatt, Founder of Andermatt and Chairman of the board Andermatt Group

Before 1988, there was no biological solution available to control codling moths in apple orchards. This changed when Martin and Isabel Andermatt founded Andermatt Biocontrol and developed Madex® to control this key pest. In 1988, Madex® became the first granulovirus product to receive a registration, starting in Switzerland. Since then, Andermatt has continued to innovate and develop products for sustainable food production.
